I have lived in Banyule all my life, surrounded by the warmth of wonderful people, vibrant gardens, and an abundance of birdlife. The beauty of this place continues to inspire me daily. My early school years at Rosanna Primary School and Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar were formative, guided by dedicated teachers who nurtured my love of the arts and curiosity for learning.
Observing and appreciating nature is the starting point of all my artmaking. Flowers captivate me with their changing colours and forms, offering inspiration through every season. As I write this, camellias and wattles are in full bloom, their vibrant hues bringing brightness and harmony to winter’s quieter landscape. No matter the time of year, the shifting colours of leaves and blossoms draw me into a state of reverie, sparking the desire to create.
Many of the flowers in my artworks are from my garden or sourced from the beautiful florists in our community. My creative process centers on exploring the interplay of colour harmonies and attuning myself to the radiant energy flowing through the natural world. Translating these observations into artwork allows me to enter a state of creative flow — a tangible expression of my deep appreciation for life and the beauty that surrounds us.
